Subject: Quick & Dirty Tables (was that Random Rolling thing)

Quick & Dirty (or Q&D for short) tables are an invention of Better Games (and
are trademarked, so be sure to put in the tm somewhere), and represent sort of
a half-way point between using just tables and usig your imagination. I
showed how they could be used in an earlier post, and have gotten a request to
post some complete ones.
Now, since I want you all to buy Space Gamer, I won't post any that have
appeared there or might appear there. However, I do have some that have been
turned down for publication, and will post them periodically.
A few notes for those who haven't bought an issue of Space Gamer yet (to
those that don't plan to buy it at all...plbbbbbbt!): Firstly, the systems they
publish use D8's exclusively. Q&D's are either D8 or 2D8 usually, but I have
seen one or two 3D8 ones Task resolution is with 2D8, with Degrees of
difficulty being Routine (or Basic or Simple), Difficult, Tasking, Limit in
order of increasing difficulty. For Hero, they would be like 14-, 11-, 8- and
5-. Any other mechanics questions, post with the header "Better Games:" in
front of them so I won't skip them by mistake.
There are alot of in-jokes in these Q&D's since I was writing them for a
Newsletter that has since been cancelled. Red is the owner/editor of Better
Games, and Chease is a misspelling of cheese that is used by the Bogus Blue
Maintenance Staph in the future games put out by Better.
     Q&D's follow....
