My good friends and welcome strangers...

I must admit that I am not a member of your noble kindred, but I
recently came into the possession of a fragment of what you call the
"Book of Nod" and I felt that you might be interested. I believe that
this section falls somewhere immediately after the section known as
"The Temptation of Caine". You realize I am sure that such treasure
did not come easily, and I share it with you only on the understanding
that now you owe me some slight favor. We'll work out what it might
be later..

"And as Caine fled the lands of Nod the Four looked down from above;

Michael, of the holy flame,
Raphael, of the gentle dawn,
Uriel, of the night's shadow,
Gabriel, the high messenger.

And the Four wept four what they were forced to do, as Caine was much
beloved by the One, and their tears fell into the four rivers of Eden;

The ruby tear of Michael into the Pishon,
The emerald tear of Raphael into the Gihon,
The sapphire tear of Uriel into the Tigris,
The diamond tear of Gabriel into the Euphrates.

When the tears struck the waters the became as stones, and were washed
by the rivers to the four corners of the earth."

Now my good friends, this may not seem to be a very important addition
the the Book of Nod, but I have found several references through the
years to certain mystic gemstones that I feel may well be tears of the
Four. I believe I may even know were a couple of them lie. Should
anyone be interested, and be willing to pay the small price that I
might request for the information, please say so, as I do so enjoy
being able to help others.
