Vehicle: TL8 Catamaran Hulled Aircraft Carrier

Here is a segue into the world of very large vehicles. This carrier
(I call it CVN-100, UNS Atlantis) is a development of the very large
carriers cruising the oceans today. The ability to project power
effectively and locally cannot be dismissed lightly, thus, the aircraft
 carrier.

This carrier is quite large, at 130,000 tons displacement (the Nimitz
weighs in at around 81,000 tons displacement). It's catamaran hull
is built for speed and stability, with most of the actual volume of
the ship in the hulls and in a sort of substructure between the hulls,
which I picture as containing the hangar bays.

One hundred twenty aircraft can be carried, and the craft carries one
million gallons of aviation fuel for extended operations. It is NBC
sealed for six months of ops. I tried to give it enough redundant
 sensors as to be useful.

Vessel: TL8 Supercarrier

Structure:
4,940,000 cubic feet heavy body, cheap materials. 75,000 cubic feet
island (superstructure), also cheap materials. Max load: roughly
370,000 tons. Catamaran Hull with fine streamlining and roll stabilizers.
The body is sealed and compartmentalized. Body HT is 348,069.

Power and Propulsion:
The craft is powered by two 450 MW fission reactors (one in each hull
section) (HT 3,248). The reactors drive a twin MHD Tunnel Drive with
895 MW of motive power (HT 30,364).

Accommodations:
The vessel has standard quarters in the hull for 2900 sailors (mechanical
requirements for MHD Tunnels was not listed...I'm assuming they're fairly
extensive). There are also five roomy quarters in the island for the
Admiral, Captain, CAG, XO, and one VIP (Alphabet soup is the main course
 tonight...)

Accessories, Defensive:
Compact Fire Extinguisher, 4 Radar Detector/Locators, 3 Heavy Radar
Jammers, Deceptive; Partial Stealth, Improved Sound Baffling,
Advanced IR cloaking.

Accessories, Sensors
Extreme Range Thermograph [Scan 22]; Very Long Range Ladar [Scan 24;
Rangefinder/Designator Options]; Long Range Radar Set (Air Search)
[Scan 25 airborne, 20 low altitude]; Long Range Radar Set, Advanced
Air Search [Scan 26air/21low]; Very Long Range Radar Set, Advanced
Air Search [Scan 27air/22 low]; Two Long Range Missile Guidance Radars,
ALLTV Set. Extreme Range Active Sonar [Scan 22]; Long Range Active
Sonar (Backup)[Scan 18]; Early Warning Hydrophones [Scan 26]; Towed Array
 Long Range Hydrophones [Scan 20].

Accessories, Computers
Shipboard Computer (Genius Megacomputer, Complexity 7).
The possibilitis for the software are nearly endless. Customize
it for your campaign. At the very least grab a CIWS Program which
 is at least complexity 5)

Navigation and Communications
INS, GPS, IFF, 4 Long Distance Secure Radios with Radio direction finder,
2 Laser Communicators, 2 Microwave communicators, Short Range
Anticollision LADAR (miniladar, forward scan only, Scan 16)

Aircraft Capabilities

Angled Flight Deck, ~57,500 sqare feet or so. Five catapult sytems.
Arrestor Cable systems should be included, but aren't in the book.
  Sigh.

100 Fuel Bunkers, each with 100,000 gal capacity. The bunkers are self
 sealing.

Hangar Space for 120 Fighter Aircraft. Includes machine shops sufficient
for doing aircraft maintenance and repair. Ten armored ordnance lockers
house up to 10,000 cubic feet of bombs, rockets, and missiles. That
should be enough.

Weapons
Ten gatling gauss guns in 25 yd cherry picker turrets. The max speed
of the vessel is cut down to allow the power plant to provide the 7.2
MW of power required to allow all ten weapons to engage targets at
once. Each gun has 10,000 shots. Also, 100 Hv SAAM launchers are
mounted in VLS cells around the ship for anti-air capability. The
range of the Hv SAAM should probably be increased significantly,
since if you do the math, a missile the size of Phoenix only has a
 13 mile max range).

Armor:
External Armor: DR 500 Standard Laminate; Component Armor: Fission
Plants: DR100 extra; MHD Tunnels: DR 100 Extra; Fuel Bunkers DR 500
extra; Arms Lockers DR 500 Extra.

Cargo Space: 3000 cubic Feet.

Statistics and Performance:
Cost: $900,000,000
Design Mass: approx 130,000 tons
Max Speed: 54 mph
Acceleration: 1.3 mph/sec
Water MR: 0.25; Water SR: 9; ; Size Modifier +13; Radar Signature: 9;
IR Signature: 12; Acoustic Signature +0 (!)
