Subject: Re: Anyone Still Playing AFTERMATH?

Okay, here's the real deal on Aftermath and FGU :

My brother and I used to be avid fans of FGU games : Bushido, Aftermath,
V & V, etc. About a year ago, we were both curious as to the fate of the
company as well as the future of Aftermath. My brother got to know a girl
who worked at a role-playing store in Long Island and, after mentioning
an interest in Aftermath, was told by her that she used to work for FGU -
the company that puts out Aftermath. She later set him up with the phone
number to Bob Charette, the designer of Aftermath, and told him (my
brother) that Charette
resides in Virginia.

My brother (Mike) gave him a call, but he wasn't that helpful. Basically,
he discovered that Charette used very few of the rules when he gamemastered
and doesn't play it at all at this point. He is now into Shadowrun, is
married, and thought (in our opinion) that we were freaks in some esoteric
Aftermath cult.

Prior to calling Charette I had made my own inquiries and discovered that FGU
had moved to Arizona! I called the company and spoke with an FGU rep just
as he started to "unpack" the company! FGU may just be alive and well - they
would just like to remain incognito, I think. Weird.

My brother and I will still be playing Aftermath despite Charette's lack of
support, and I encourage anyone interested in exchanging ideas, scenarios,
etc. to do so.

Aftermath is alive!
