From: [m--a--i] at [max.tiac.net] (Peter Maranci) Date: 10 Jul 1995 19:54:21 GMT Subject: [periodical] Free non-commercial RPG/SF magazine Readers of this newsgroup are invited to write for a free copy of Interregnum, a not-for-profit magazine that covers roleplaying games from an adult viewpoint as well as the fields of science fiction and fantasy in general. Interregnum (IR) includes original game scenarios, genre fiction, computer/card/RPG game reviews, humor, SF/fantasy TV and movie reviews, plot hooks, NPCs, and anything else the contributors decide to write. From a recent review in Shadis magazine: * * * "It took the longest to overview Interregnum because it's an APA zine, meaning it's huge. Good thing I took my time, because some of it is excellent. ...it has lucid, intellectual writing. Some of the articles are astute, insightful views into role-playing. I chuckle reading some of their opinions on science fiction TV shows. I read some of their fiction, which I normally avoid in game zines. (What's more, I enjoyed it). The down side of IR is the same with all APAs: they use lots of abbreviations (like 'RAEBNC'), some authors write stream-of-consciousness, and there is almost no art. Most of these are minimal complaints, though, and to offset them, IR has superb layouts and smart articles." -- Shadis magazine issue #17 (January/February 1995), p.96 * * * Interregnum has no advertising, and is not associated with any company or business. The Interregnum Sampler is 48 pages long, and includes humor, reviews, and original work by eleven different authors. The first twenty people to respond via the Internet will receive a free copy mailed to the (snail-mail) address of their choice, anywhere in the world; others can receive a copy by sending a 9 x 12" SASE with $1.47 in US postage affixed. Non-US correspondents should write to [m--a--i] at [max.tiac.net] to make alternate arrangements. Net and snail-mail addresses will not be recorded or retained for any purpose. We're not looking to make money; what we need are intelligent and imaginative writers and readers. Some of the text of Interregnum is available in ASCII form over the Net, though of course this lacks layout and art. Send email to [m--a--i] at [max.tiac.net] and include a snailmail address for the full printed edition, or send a valid email address for ASCII text or more information. -->Pete ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Peter Maranci [m--a--i] at [max.tiac.net] Malden, Massachusetts Editor, Interregnum RPG/science-fantasy APA/magazine -- email for info.
