Partridge's Dictionary of Slang says "hemp" is a slang word for 
Marijuana, since "it resembles that plant". Since Marijuana and hemp are 
the SAME PLANT, this is pretty strange, unless you consider the millions 
of dollars the U.S. government has been spending for fifty years to 
promulgate lies and misinformation about this plant. Looks like 
Partridge's were taken in by the BS.
