ILATION

Capricorn Records announces the upcoming release of the first-ever benefit 
recording to support the actions of NORML (the National Organization for the 
Reform of Marijuana Laws).  The project, due out on September 26th will be 
released by Capricorn Records and produced with assistance by High Times 
Magazine and NORML.  A Significant portion of the profits will be donated to 
NORML to benefit their actions to reform the current marijuana laws.

Phil Walden, President of Capricorn Records and a former NORML board member 
states: "This not an endorsement of the usage of marijuana or any other 
illegal substance, but ratter the belief that the criminal prosecution of 
marijuana imposes unjust and unfair penalties.  HEMPILATION is a testament 
to these bands' support of NORML's efforts to reform these laws."

Musicians participating on this project include: The Black Crowes, Blues 
Traveller, Cracker, Cypress Hill, Drivin-N-Cryin, Gov't Mule (featuring 
Warren Haynes), 311, Widespread Panic, Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers and 
others to be announced soon.  The artists participating on this album have 
agreed to donate original versions of "HEMP" classics or contribute original 
material.  A few of the songs slated for this release include Cracker's "One 
Toke Over The Line (Brewer & Shipley), Blues Traveller's "I Wanna Take You 
Higher" (Sly & The Family Stone) and The B1ack Crowes version of Dylan's 
Rainy Day Woman."

Walden further comments: "The music contained in HEMPILATION represents an 
important facet of the fabled counter-culture of Rock and Roll.  We hope 
that this project will not only be a great source of entertainment but will 
help spread the word about the many positive actions of NORML and the 
benefits of hemp as more than a drug."

A New York City release party is currently being planned.  Participating 
artists and venue to be announced at a later date.
