Subject: List of chemicals added to cigarettes

For those of you fighting the drug cartels that dominate the North
Carolina (et.al.) state economy, here is a list of some of the chemicals
that cigarette companies are putting into their products. In general,
there is a wealth of information to be had from analyzing the patents
that tobacco companies have sought.

Anyone with contacts at the FDA or Congress, feel free to pass on
this list. Between the FDA, Congressional committees and the Patent and
Trademark Office, a better understanding of what chemicals are being put
into cigarettes (and therefore your lungs) can be determined.

The following list is not exhaustive, but rather based on a quick
search done through Patent Office files. All of the following patents
use the listed chemicals as tobacco flavorants. Patent number, partial
title and inventor company are listed.

You can order a paper copy of any patent by sending a check for $3 to
"US Patent and Trademark Office, Washington, DC, 20231".
