Bill C-7 is also known as the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act, and is a regressive and prohibitionist drug law. It will now have to go to the Senate for consideration and approval, and then be given royal assent by the Governor General before it becomes law. Cannabis Canada has prepared some detailed information about Bill C-7, as well as some letters which should be printed out and mailed to the appropriate people.. This post will be followed by posts which explain: 1) what Bill C-7 is and why it is bad. 2) how Bill C-7 was passed and who said what during debate. 3) excerpts from testimony received (and ignored) by the Parliamentary subcommittee on Bill C-7. 4) a selection of letters to the Senate, various Members of Parliament, and media. All Canadians who read this should print out those letters and mail them to the appropriate people. All of this material is also available at the Cannabis Canada home page, found at www.hempbc.com. -- Dana Larsen Editor, Cannabis Canada, "The Magazine of Canada's Cannabis Culture" Suite 405 - 21 Water St., Vancouver, BC, V6B 1A1 tel: 604-669-9069 fax: 604-669-9038 Toll Free: 1-800-330-HEMP Visit Cannabis Canada On-line at: http://www.hempbc.com
