There have been posts about Nitrous Oxide and, separately, hyperventilating.
Let me try to pull the two together in a euphoric concept.
Unlike some other newsgroups on the subject of getting high this one seems a
little more thoughtful, so I'll take a risk and run this by all of you.
You must only try this in bed, so you won't fall down, and under
unintoxicated supervision. So you see, it must be with someone you are very
close to.
Now, if this goes against anybody's common sense, I'm sorry. I got kicked
off another drug newsgroup with a slap-on-the wrist from the moderator for
posting about it. I'm still laughing about that. Evidently a lot of kids
also subscribe.
You can die from this. If that in itself worries you- skip the rest. The
main advantage is that the substance involved is virtually unrestricted.
It's Co2! That's right, Carbon Dioxide (not CO, Carbon Monoxide, please).
Inhale some from a Nitrous balloon- just don't overdo it.
I discovered the effects of breathing pure Co2 many years ago. I was scuba
diving. I wore a life vest that remained uninflated until one of those mini
Co2 cylinders pumped it up by pulling a cord. Well, I came up to the
surface and felt kind of tired, so I pulled the cord, it pumped-up just
fine. After I had relaxed a little just floating around I absent-mindedly
took the stem in my mouth and let out some of the Co2 gas, toking on it. I
amost blacked out but it was a rush! I was lucky, could have drowned.
After many years of getting high on one substance or another I find that it
is not the substance so much as your own bodily and mental, response. Why
get doped? Deal with pure semiconsciouness.
Only "for the love of god" -do it with someone who cares about you.

CO2? too much like flat-lining for me. better make sure your friend
knows CPR.
(i know that in many such cases the body spontaneously recovers from
such asphyxiation once the user passes out and (s)he resumes breathing
O2... BUT i've heard of some cases where this did not happen, resulting
in death) IMO, this method of psychedelic exploration is only for the
brave and moderately suicidal...
but to each his own.

This can be done in a serious and safe way, by making a mix of
30% CO2, and 70% oxygen. This is called Meduna's Gas, and
was used in the 50's in psychotherapy research.

Basically the CO2 triggers an "abreaction", the intense feeling you
are dying (the lungs can sense CO2 levels, but not oxygen levels).
Supposed to be a very interesting experience.
