Subject: Re: Pure T.H.C. Newsgroups: alt.hemp Well if you want to take a chance of ruining a good batch of bud you might as well get something out of it: THC! First off THC is soluble in fat (oil, butter, etc) and alcohol (most any type). Lets say you have 1/2 ounce of kind bud that you don't feel like smoking (I don't know why you wouldn't). Grind it all up real fine, until it's like a coarse powder. No special equipment needed, scissors will even work if you have that much time. Get a sealable container, metal preferably. Get yourself some acetone (hardware store) or use any type of pure (at least 70%) alcohol you find at drug stores. I prefer acetone since it evaporates much quicker with 0 residue. Dump your powdered bud into the metal container, pour the acetone in until it's pretty full... has to cover the powdered weed and then some. i.e. enough to let the weed particles float around freely. Mix it up a few times and wait about 30 minutes. If you're brave enough you can heat it up in the metal container (if you used glass, DON'T heat it up) on the stove on lowest setting. Never above 190 deg F, that's the vaporization temperature of THC. Ok, now get a strong cloth, something that won't fall apart under pressure. Get another container (any type) and put the cloth over the mouth of the second container and press down so you have a funnel-like dent going into the second container. Dump the acetone/weed mixture onto the funnel shape slowly. Let all the weed-mess fall into it too. You'll see a dark green/brown tricle of fluid going into the second container. When it's just dripping slow, gather up the ends of the cloth and twist the end with the wad of weed in it. Squeeze out all the liquid by wringing the cloth. Don't let any solid matter (powdered weed) get into the second container. Dump the wet weed back into the first container and pour same amount of acetone in with it... just like the first time. Do it all over again, same steps. You should have about double the amount of liquid in the second container. If you are a patient person, do it a THIRD time. Hey, there's still some THC left even after the second step. When you're done you should have a nice collection of dark green/brown acetone. Oh BTW, do this in a well ventilated place.. acetone just happens to be extremely flamable. NO FLAMES!!! Now this next step will test your patience: ...wait... Depending on the container you use to evaportae the mixture, you may have to wait up to 24 hours for this muck to be of any use. I prefer using a wide flat bottom container. Like a 9" glass baking pan. Leave it where it wont be knocked over or found, it does smell slightly of pot. FINALLY IT'S DONE! You should have a nice thick, dark goop left in the bottome of the tray. "This shit is too messy to fuck with" you say? Well, look no further. Go get the chopped up weed you kept... you kept it right? Use any wide-edged scraping device (spackle spreader or paint scraper) a new one of course. Scrape up as much of the goop into one area of the pan as possible. You can do what you want with this of you can do my favorite thing, make a form of hash! Sprinkle the now dry weed, a small amount, onto the goop. Mix it around with the scraper until it's all mixed in good. Too goopy still? Sprinkle more in and mix. You should only use enough powdered weed so you can work with it without making a mess. Gather a small wad of your new best friend, poke it in a pipe, and light up! Remeber a good rule: THC likes getting flamed about as much as the average usenet reader... DON'T TORCH IT, heat it up gently! Flame destroys much of the THC before it ever gets into your lungs. This smoke, well not even smoke, it'll be a sweet heavy mist of pure THC.
