I was there, too.  I'm the PTO president at my children's school, and
I agree that DARE:

Induces kids to spy on parents/siblings/neighbors/friends:

"Does anybody here know someone that does drugs?"  


Lies to children: 

"Don't be afraid to say anything, they won't get into trouble."


Refuses to allow parents to review course materials.
