The quotation is from June 1993 Soldier of Fortune magazine, page 51: "One reliable federal source stated that when the ATF's pair of long- bed pickups and cattle trailers drove up to the front door of Rancho Apocalypse [the BD name for the Waco property], Koresh came out to meet them, whereupon an agent began firing a suppressed MP5 SD submachine gun at the cult leader from the passenger side of the leading pickup, prompting return fire from the compound while Koresh retreated inside. Gunfire killed the ATF agent chosen to "take out" Koresh, the source noted." There are other sources which suggest that the ATF did have the intention to kill Koresh and ask questions later.
