The above map shows the 9 Provinces (Banovinas) of Yugoslavia and their
corresponding capitals. Also:

Banovina Capital Origin of the name or meaning
 --------- ---------- ---------------------------------------------
VARDARSKA Skopje river Vardar - runs through South-Serbia
MORAVSKA Nis` river Morava - runs through Central-Serbia
ZETSKA Cetinje river Zeta - runs through Central-Serbia
DRINSKA Sarajevo river Drina - runs through Montenegro
DUNAVSKA Novi Sad river Danube - runs through Bosnia
VRBASKA Banja Luka river Vrbas - runs through Serbia & other countries
SAVSKA Zagreb river Sava - runs through Serbia/Croatia/Slovenia
DRAVSKA Ljubljana river Drava - runs through Slovenia
PRIMORSKA Split means "Province by the Seacoast". Today is Dalmatia.

NOTES:
- In 1939, a new province, namely, Hrvatska Banovina, was created by
uniting (approximately) Savska and Primoska, as well as, western parts of
Dunavska. The rest of the Banovinas remained intact with unchanged names
or borders, continually from 1929 to 1941.

- The city of Belgrade [denoted by (+) in the map above] with its suburbs
was a special administrative zone and was not part of any Banovina.

- Banovina is a Croatian word which means "Province".
==============================================================================

I hope that you found the above information as a solid argument against
the naming of Province of Vardarska by any other name today, especially
a Greek name such as "Macedonia".

Serafim......................................a Makedonian from Makedonia
