(this simple method of construction is also used to reduce costs on non-blowback weapons.) the barrel can be attached in several ways. threading is nice, but time consuming. just press fit it. (works on MAK-90s.) the bolt is a hunk of metal cut to the correct size, with grooves in the side & fitted with an extractor and fixed firing pin. the hardest part would be to get the extractor tuned. after that's done, just drop it into the receiver with the recoil spring. (works on Stens, MAC-series, Grease guns.) the trigger's nothing more than a glorified spring-loaded catch. there ya go. full auto weapon. no parts kits or expensive CNC mills necessary. hell, if the Pakistanis can build AK-47s (which are quite a bit more complex) with no power tools, someone in a well-equipped machine shop had BETTER be able to build a lousy Sten gun in under 8 hours. while these operations require some precise measurement & fitting, none is, in and of itself, very difficult or time consuming. jason -- PGP mail welcome.
