    [F--R--W] at [SSIINC.COM] is a closed list for academic discussions
of legal, constitutional, and practical issues related to firearms
regulation.

    Membership is generally limited to academics who have some
knowledge or research interests in the field.  We hope to cover --
from all sides -- questions such as:

    *  Does the Second Amendment create an individual right, and if
so, what are the right's parameters?
    *  What is the proper way to interpret the various state
constitutional right to keep and bear arms provisions?
    *  How often are guns used defensively?
    *  Are liberalizations of concealed weapons laws (such as the
ones recently implemented in Florida, Virginia, and other states) a
good idea?

    We hope to AVOID abstract moral discussions of the propriety of
firearms use or firearms regulation.
