Someone laid this across my desk this morning. It is supposed to be an FBI
memo.

[brackets are hypertext the distributor put on the memo]

FBI MEMORANDUM

DATE: June 11, 1993
FROM: Federal Bureau of Investigation
TO: The President of the United States
    The U.S. Attorney General

FBI GUN CONTROL RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Mandatory licensing of all handgun owners.

[They just got a new $47 million computer system.]

2. A complete ban on the sale, transfer or possession of
semiautomatic firearms, with no compensation for owners.

[They know semiauto rifles are used in less than 1%
of all crime. And they know better than to call
semiautos "assault weapons." But they'll do it to
	 get your guns.]

/* Remember as well that in states like New Jersey
where they have outlawed semiautos their definition
is anything that holds more than 6 shots without
having to be reloaded. i.e. .45 pistols, .22
hunting rifles, heck almost all pistols that are
not revolvers are covered under this. Basically
almost all guns are covered under this! */

3. A complete ban on the sale, transfer or possesion of high
performance ammunition commonly used for hunting and self
   defense.

[They know "armor-piercing" ammunition is already banned except
for police and military use; this expands the ban to whatever
    ammunition they want.]

4. Taxpayer-funded buy-back programs for firearms surrendered to
law enforcement authorities within an amnesty period.

[They know criminals won't turn in their guns but they want
    yours.]

5. Immediate enactment of the Brady Bill "national waiting period."

[Their own Department called the Brady Bill "useless" but they
also know it's popular with Clinton.]

/* Not to mention there is no need for a waiting period. Their
justification was for background checks. Well, the NRA offered
to pay for a system that could do immediate computer background
checks. They didn't like that though. */

6. Reallocation of FBI resources to increase regulation of
manufacturers, collectors, and federally licensed firearm dealers.

[They ought to use FBI resources to catch criminals, not create
    them.]

7. Develop a media strategy to publicize and develop support for
   the FBI's position.

[Violates federal law Sec. 1913, Title 18, U.S.C., which prohibits
the use of congressionally appropriated finds for lobbying purposes.]

Get ready folks their going to be coming soon and they are going to
coming for your guns. Then only the criminals and the government will
have weapons. Both of which I trust implicitly. :-(
