Subject: The Black Gun & Liberal Magazine Ban

Here's a new twist on an old theme ... I have had this conversation with
a number of non-gun owners who aren't quite sure about the "guns n'
freedom" connection:

CCF: "Rest assured that the black gun and liberal magazine ban so beloved
by Bill Clinton & Friends will be repealed in 1996."

OTHER: "The black gun and liberal magazine ban? What in the heck?"

CCF: "Yeah, I know how crazy it sounds, but Clinton chose to ban a whole
lot of guns which are black in color simply by focusing public attention on
their blackness, their different appearance, as if their blackness makes
them more sinister, dangerous, menacing, deadly, etc. His words, not mine.
It was a campaign involving naked racism on Clinton's part, nothing more,
nothing less.

Look at the issue this way, if people were guns, Bill Clinton, the white,
ultra-slick, glib, suit-wearing, aw-shuckster smoothie from Arkansas
would be an `approved hunting gun', while Jesse Jackson, the black,
rhymin' Simon civil rights activist from the Midwest would be a `banned
assault weapon', based solely on his `scary blackness' and his `propensity
to commit crimes', don'tcha know?" That's `Clinton Thinking' for you."

(I carry in my briefcase color copied photos of "banned" guns and color
copied photos of "good" guns ... viewers soon see that, in Clinton's
eyes, "wood and blued metal" may be O.K. for now, but that "black" is
definitely out. It's a black and white issue.)

OTHER: "So, you're sayin' a gun is a gun is a gun, and you're also saying
that Bill Clinton targeted black guns for banning because he knew that
he could exploit public fear of their different, black appearance?"

CCF: "Precisely. And his low-life, sleazy, unethical, racist scheme
worked. In some dictionaries, such tactics are defined as demagoguery."

OTHER: "What about this liberal magazine ban? Are you talking about TIME
and NEWSWEEK?"

CCF: "Not yet. In this case, I'm talking about firearms magazines, more
popularly known as clips, which are capable of holding a `liberal'
(meaning ample or generous) amount of ammunition cartridges. But now that
a liberal columnist (William Safire) has referred to The First Lady as a
`congenital liar', Clinton may expand the meaning of `banning liberal
magazines.' He's a ban plannin' fool, that's for certain.

You see, while a dictionary's primary definition of the word `liberal' is
usually `unrestricted', it's important to remember that the very core of
the Clinton-type liberal philosophy is to obtain complete, unequivocal
control of every aspect of Americans' lives. Clinton believes that you
and I are children who cannot make responsible decisions. In a nutshell,
that's his governing style. Ban. Restrict. Control. Deny freedom.

First guns, then magazines (two pieces of sheet metal and a spring!), then
tobacco, what next, The Fast Food Police? Where will Clinton stop? And
* YOU * , and some important aspect of your private life which means a great
deal to you, will undoubtedly be his next target. Guaranteed.

So when you hear Clinton, Schumer, Feinstein and Brady groan and moan
about `those awful black assault weapons, high capacity magazines and the
NRA', remember this conversation, remember the color of Bill Clinton's skin
and the color of Jesse Jackson's skin, recall how Clinton and his pals
made Americans fear certain guns' `blackness', how Clinton and his pals
have twisted the true definition of `liberal', and how * YOU * and
something of great value to you will be Clinton's and his regulators'
next target. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe next week. Maybe next month. Remember
that * YOU * are next on Clinton's `To Be Controlled' list, and vote
accordingly in the Presidential Primary and in the election in November."

OTHER: "Wow, so it's not just a `gun' issue. It's broader than that."

CCF: "It surely is. It's about * OUR * freedom as Americans to make our
own decisions and to run our own lives without Bill Clinton's stamp of
approval. Thanks for listening, and remember to think of `black guns and
liberal magazines' whenever you hear Clinton, his staff or allies in
Congress whining about guns. If you ever have some free time and want to
see what shooting is all about, here's my business card. I'd be glad to
invite you to a local indoor range so that you could meet other gun
owners (we are * NICE * people) and learn about firearms' functioning and
safety. Take care. Maybe I'll see you at the voting booth?"

(End of Conversation)

"The Black Gun & Liberal Magazine Ban" ... think about the wording. Risky?
Not in my book, as long as you are sure of your subject and not prone to
becoming argumentative if the "other party" doesn't agree with your point
of view. Consider giving it a try.
