POLICE CHIEFS HELD TO DOUBT GUN LAW

Washington - Police chiefs believe that the Brady Law requiring a
five-day waiting period to buy guns will have little impact on
criminals, according to a poll published yesterday. Over 97
percent of the heads of law enforcement agencies said criminals will
still be able to obtain illegal weapons on the street within hours on
any day of the week. The survery of 3,241 police agency heads,
conducted by the National Association of Chiefs of Police, also found
about 97 percent believe empty military installations should be opened
to lock up the overflow of convicted felons. (Reuters)
