King-5 news (NBC) reported that it will do a special segment on 
the 11:00 news about a man who used a rifle to save the life of 
a neighbor woman who was attacked by a knife wielding assailant.

A Granite Falls, Wa woman, Jackie Boston was beaten, shot, and 
stabbed by her ex-boy friend, Don Bennet on Monday, 5-22-95.
Her neighbor, Darwin Mitchell, upon hearing the gun shots, got
his hunting rifle from his home and went to her rescue.  He held
her attacker at (empty) gun piont until police arrived.
Jackie Boston was released from the hospital today, 5-24-95.
A single bullet had pierced her breast and side.
