This particular event does not involve a firearm, but a few non-firearm
incidents may help give some "balance" to the concept of self-defense and
fighting back against crime.

In this corner, at 5 feet 3 and 130 pounds, it's Janice Johnston, a
40-year-old computer consultant.
And in this corner, at 5 feet 8 and 180 pounds, it's a muscular
24-year-old man, allegedly making his career in property procurement.
The bell rings ... and it's no contest.
Ms. Johnston, confronted by a larger man who she says was trying to
snatch her purse, took her own bite out of crime by wrestling him to the
ground outside a McKinney Avenue restaurant Tuesday night.
"I had no feelings. I only felt anger." said Ms. Johnston, her eyes
flashing with determination. "I didn't care about the consequences.
I was willing to do whatever it took to stop him.
"I wanted him to go to jail."
Wednesday, that's where Willie Paul Johnson sat, held in the Lew
Sterrett Justice Center on aggravated robbery charges. Bail was set
at $40,000.
