#1) Borrow a gun (ie take a friends gun to the range if he is

I believe it is, but only for 30 days max. (See below)

#2) Store a gun in a location other than your registered address?

Unknown.

#3) Do you need to go through an FFL for a person to person
# transfer of an unregistered gun if both know each other.
# ( I think it cant be done , but someone here claims that
# its legal)

You need to go through an FFL. This was changed not all that long
ago (couple years?). It used to be legal.

I would suggest that you get Peter Kasler's book on CA gun laws. It will
answer you questions (at least the ones related to CA laws). Peter is
also kind enough to answer questions and he since he has net access it
is quite easy to ask him.

The book is $25 (I think) which is a discount to net people. I think that
includes shipping, but you would have to check to make sure. His email
address is [t--i] at [crl.com.]

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The Strongest
reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as
a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
