     Pistol-Packing Pizza Delivery Man Fired
WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) Domino's Pizza driver Anthony Leone
started toting a handgun after a co-worker was robbed on a
     delivery.

He hoped he wouldn't have to use it, and for two years, he
     didn't.

Then on Thursday night, he had a fake delivery call. A man and a
woman approached him. The woman punched him in the jaw. He drew his
.45-caliber pistol and told her to back off. She did.

        On Monday, Leone was fired.

Pizza delivery people for Domino's are not allowed to carry
guns, or weapons of any kind, a company official said.

``I'm concerned that if the community of thieves thinks we're
armed, they'll be more aggressive,'' regional Domino's manager
Scott Gates said. ``I'm concerned that the robbers will think they
     have to get bigger guns.''

But Leone, a 34-year-old Woodbridge resident, said he has the
     right to protect himself.

``I've done nothing wrong,'' he said. ``I don't want to be in
that situation again, but I felt I needed some sort of
    protection.''

Pizza delivery drivers are popular targets among robbers, police
say. The culprits often call and order pizza sent to a fake
     address, then ambush the driver.
