Shattered Image #1 of 4 (Busiek & Daniel/Conrad/Benjamin/Surprise
Guests). A *self-contained*, weekly, all-Image Universe crossover by
the mind behind Marvels and Astro City. Cover depicts Spawn, Dragon,
Shaft, Shadowhawk, Witchblade, and Grifter in a broken mirror motif.
It just hit me...maybe this will end with the Top Cow characters go-
ing to some other universe?

Supreme #41 (A. Moore & J. Bennett). The *real* Supreme returns from
space to find way too many impostors in "Land of 1000 Supremes."

GOD and SATAN are apparently (tm) Erik Larsen, and they're on the
cover of Savage Dragon #31 kicking each other in the groin. This
could be just the thing to boost GOD's(tm) sagging career. In
other news, GOD(tm) will be guest starring in a very special
episode of Martin, and he's also scheduled to fight Mike Tyson in
September. You go, GOD(tm)!

Spawn #53 (McFarlane/Capullo). Spawn vs. his creator, the Malebolgia.
No word on whether GOD(tm) will show up.

NewMen #21 (Stephenson & Sprouse). New regular art team is the former
Legionnaires art team of Chris Sprouse and Al Gordon.

Cyberforce #26 and 27 (Holguin & Finch) will guest star Joe Quesada's
Ash.

Deathblow/Wolverine (R. Bennett/Wiesenfeld & Wiesenfeld). Together they
saved the world 10 years ago. Now at last the story can be told.

****Humberto Ramos Alert!*****Warren Ellis Alert!*********************
DV8 #1 (Ellis & H. Ramos). Warren calls it the "River's Edge" of teen
superheroes (I suppose Gen^13 was "Ferris Buehler"?). A spin-off from
Gen ^13, with 8 variant^H^H^H i mean deviant covers.

Speaking of Gen^13, their 13th issue is a 3-issue miniseries. Each chapter
is 13 pages long and has 13 totally gratuitous guest stars, including
Spawn, Hellboy, Archie Andrews, Monkeyman & O'Brien, Maxx, Fone Bone, Shi,
Madman, Francine & Katchoo, the Beanworld Beans, and more. $1.30 (get it?)
each.

KING HELL:
==========
Subtleman #1/Rare Bit Fiends #21 (R. Veitch).

MALIBU:
=======
Prime #11 (Giffen & Rio).

Exiles #11 (P. Crain & Fang). Final issue.

Ultraforce #11 (Wein & Deodato Studios). I only mention this
because there's a backup Ghoul story by the Pander Brothers(!)

MARVEL:
=======
More promo art from "Heroes Reborn" (formerly "Unfinished Busi-
ness"). Liefeld has an Avengers piece: Captain America (sporting
the eagle logo), Iron Man (designed by Whilce Portacio, whose
production sketches are also on the page), and Thor (in the clas-
sic Kirby costume with an extra armband or two). There is also
what seems to be a Liefeld sketch of the Red Skull's new duds,
and of course the same old Jim Lee FF pinup that's been all over
the fan press.

Some August Marvel comics will have Overpower game cards inside.

Onslaught: Marvel Universe (Waid/Lobdell & Andy Kubert). The 48-
page, no ads finale to Onslaught, wherein the FF and Avengers are
surgically removed from the Marvel Universe.

Incredible Hulk: Hercules Unleashed (PAD & Deodato). The Hulk is
blamed for the Avengers/FF disappearance, and the Lion of Olympus
wants to have a few words with him.

Incredible Hulk #446 (PAD & Medina). The Hulk is blamed for the
Avengers/FF disappearance, and the Pantheon wants to have a few
words with him.

Marvel Heroes & Legends (Various). Story by Stan Lee & Fabian, art
by Steve Ditko, Gene Colan, John Romita Sr., Neal Adams, and John
Buscema. No this does *not* mean Ditko will draw Spider-Man. Ever.

**Spider-Man**
Sensational #9 (Dezago & 'Ringo). Is it a boy or a girl? Fun with
ultrasound, plus the new and deadly Swarm.

Amazing '96 (annual) (DeFalco/Nicieza & Frenz/Lightle/Romita Sr.).
"Untold Tales" of Kraven, Norman Osborn, and Peter's parents.

Carnage: It's a Wonderful Life (Quinn & Hotz).John Jameson tries
to stop Carnage from taking over the asylum.

**X-Men**
X-Men/Clan Destine #1 of 2 (Alan Davis). 48 pages, no ads, and the
post-Davis issues of Clan Destine have been well and truly stricken
from continuity.

Most X-books are either sweeping up after the Onslaught thing or
facing something called Operation Zero Tolerance.

The Rise of Apocalypse #1 of 4 (Kavanaugh & Leonardi). The origin
of you-know-who.

Wolverine '96 (annual) (Loeb & McGuiness). In this corner, Wolverine,
Yukio, and Sunfire! In the other corner, a big honkin' robot called
Red Ronin! Fight!

X-Force/Youngblood (Stephenson & Platt). Conclusion to last month's
Youngblood/X-Force. Everybody vs. Mojo, guest starring Longshot and
Dazzler.

X-Men/Star Trek (Lobdell & Silvestri). Behold, the Paramount era of
comics.

TPBs: Thor: Worldengine, Marvel vs. DC, Spider-Man: The Lost Years,
Just found out the Iron Man/X-O video game has Arnim Zola in it. !?
to be continued...
