Duh, 'cuz I wrote it. CLIP AND SAVE! -------------------- DC: === Robin #25 (Dixon & Wieringo) crosses over with Green Arrow #105 (Dixon & Damaggio). Tim, Connor, and The Spoiler...To- gether! Some things are so silly they deserve a mention...Action Comics #718, for one (Michelinie & K. Dwyer). Demolitia, a female version of Bloodsport. Batman: Dark Allegiences (Chaykin & Chaykin). Elseworlds one-shot. 1930's-era Batman vs. Hitler. They printed a few pages of this; definitely full-on Chaykin. Firebrand #1 (Augustyn & Velluto). The new and deadly FB. A tough NY cop, Alex Sanchez, is killed but rebuilt from the ground up by a millionaire industrialist. Vaguely resembles Ghost Rider 2099. "No one dies on my watch!(tm)" Invisibles #17 (Morrison & P. Jimenez). Tales of King Mob's former identity--Gideon Stargrave, Mod Superspy! Remember last month when I mentioned DC's tradition of put- ting Batman in a title that's about to die? Black Lightning #13 (DeVries & O. Cariello) guest stars Batman, and it is the final issue. Never doubt me again. Blood Syndicate #35 (Velez & Wilfred) and Xombi #21 (Rozum & Birch) are the final issues of each. Were they part of the DC universe, I am sure Batman would be appearing there too. DC vs. Marvel #1 of 4 (Marz & Jurgens/Castellini). see Opening Volleys for details. Spectre #38 (Ostrander & Mandrake). The origin of Uncle Sam. Green Lantern #71 (Marz & Pelletier). Guest stars Batman, *but* not getting cancelled! Part of Kyle's walkabout which will culminate in #75. Oh, and bad things are happening on the planet Rann. New Titans #130 (Wolfman & Rosado). Final issue, but does not guest star Batman. I may need to rework my theory. The art in Legionnaires #34 (Peyer/McCraw & Moy) shows Violet punching out someone who looks a lot like Wildfire, or is that ERG-1? Oh, well, should keep Chary speculating for a while... Man-Bat #1 of 3 (Dixon & Henry). Not an Elseworlds this time. TPB of Vamps, and a one-shot: Hollywood and Vein (E. Lee & W. Simpson). DRAWN & QUARTERLY: ================== My Most Secret Desire--TPB of Julie Doucet's "Dream Stories" with some new material. DYNAMIC ENTERTAINMENT: ====================== Freebooters/Paradox Man/Young Gods Preview. Ashcan of the new titles by Barry Windsor-Smith, which will be coming next year from Dark Horse, last time I checked. EVENT: ====== Ash Vol. 1 TPB (Quesada/Palmiotti). FANTAGRAPHICS: ============== Sleepy - The Early Daze (J. Eaton). TPB of Sleepyhead Tales. Sidetrack City (KAZ). TPB of strips from Details, NatLamp, Heavy Metal, etc. Schizo #2 (Brunetti). If you don't know, go ask somebody. FULL BLEED STUDIOS: =================== Pitt #1/2 (Hotton & Keown). Reprints the backup from Young blood #4 (Pitt's 1st app.), plus a new story. 24 pages for $1.50, and I take it this marks Keown's departure from Image. GRAPHITTI: ========== The Life of Groo SC is still available, as is a Mr. Monster TPB, reprinting the 8 Dark Horse "Origin" issues. IMAGE: ====== Image has evidently entered into a Milestone-esque pub- lishing relationship with the newly formed Motown comics group (Motown Machineworks, a division of Motown Animation (tm)). The first title is The Crush #1 (of 5) by Mike Baron and Steven Harris. A psychiatrist turns into a gun-toting vigilante on the mean streets of Empire City. Motown titles for early '96 include Man Against Time, with art, at least the cover, by former Static artist J.P. Leon (and it looks super, btw); and The Casual Heroes. Can't make out the artist's signature on the cover of the latter, but it looks to be in that clean sort of Allred/Rude style. As far as content, I can only judge from the cover art. Man Against Time looks like gothic sci-fi--I got a very Hellboy vibe from it. The Casual Heroes seem to be a group of Mod teen crimefighters. Oh yes, definitely Mods. Avengelyne/Prophet HC (Liefeld, Platt, Deodato). Grifter/Shi HC (Jim Lee & Travest/Tucci). Two Hardcovers? Must be the holiday season... Bone #22 (J. Smith). Phoney assembles the villagers into a militia, while Gran'ma tells thorn about the Lord of Locusts. Jim Lee pencils Gen^13 #7. Gen^13/Maxx (Loebs & Coker). One-shot. Coker's art has become very...Bachalo-esque...lately. Incidentally, WildStorm has a new series of Maxx trading cards, drawn and painted by Sam Kieth and a cast of thousands. Maximage #1 (Stephenson & L. Ross). Bad Girl Sorceress Supreme type. Art by Visitor/New Gods guy. Maxx #21 (A. Moore & Kieth). Alan Moore writes this fill-in. Savage Dragon #25 (Larsen/Giffen & Larsen/Matsuda). Double sized, guest starring Superpatriot & Freak Force. WildC.A.T.s #25 (A. Moore & Charest/Dave Johnson). Double sized. Civil war on Khera. Spawn #40-41 (McFarlane & McFarlane/Daniel/Capullo). Biweekly in December. Introducing APE-X--The Gun-Toting *Gorilla*! Yeeeeehhhhhhhaaaawwww! Santa got my letter!! KITCHEN SINK: ============= Oh bugger. I suppose I have to get the Capitol catalog now... To be continued...
