This is the second major death in comics I've learned about on r.a.c.
The joys of the net.

I'm used to deaths in the gay community--but I'd always filed Neal in my
brain with comics folks.

When I was editing at Eclipse and Neal was busy doing designwork in the
theatre, he submitted a wonderful SF proposal. I still have it somewhere
in the boxes which constitute my life.

Neal always had time for a meal and a kind word whenever we ended up at a
convention together. I looked forward to working with him at DC--just
never got around to it.

I sponsored Neal in the NY AIDS Walk a few years ago--and I still wear the
t-shirt (with DC superheroes in the fight against AIDS) that he gave me.

I was planning to hit him up for sponsorship in the SF AIDS Walk this year.

He will be missed.
