I've been meaning to post this forever, and I keep forgetting.
Has anyone noticed the infinite regresses in _Understanding Comics_?
There are two, maybe three pages where we see Scott McCloud at his drawing
board -- and on the drawing board is that very page of the book. This
occurs on p. 2, and also I think on p. 61.

More fun is the secret message. On p. 47, panel two, look slightly
down and to the left of Scott's right eye. Find the word "Larry" and read
downwards. (For those of you who don't have the book handy, I'll reveal
the message at the end of this article.)

Nobody has mentioned the _UC_ t-shirts in any of the posts about
the SDCC. McCloud and his wife were selling them when he signed at Berkeley
and San Francisco's Comic Relief stores. They're black, with blue and white
print. On the front is the two-panel "man tipping his hat" diagram, in blue.
On the back are four small icons in blue boxes: a lightbulb with "rays"
emanating from it; an eye; the "picture plane" triangle; and an apple with
a bite out of it. Down the middle it says "I understand. Do you?" -- "under-
stand" in large white letters, the rest in blue.

The shirts are really cool, and lots of fun to use to confuse people
who aren't familiar with the book. I believe he was going to sell them at
the con...I might be wrong.

	Okay, the message:

"Larry Marder is God. I have proof he's God."
