        Sure... it's just really, REALLY obscure.  Hyperion is a rip
off of Superman, who's alien name is Kal-el.  Put the two names together and yo
u get Kal-el Zhib-ran... Or Kahlil Gibran, the popular Lebanese novelist of 
the mid-20th century.  See, REALLY obscure... and to an English major, 
immensely funny.  Which proves that English majors don't get out enough. :)
