A STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES
 FROM DIAMOND PRESIDENT & CEO STEVE GEPPI

	With DC exclusivity starting in July, and with all the other
changes in
our industry, the time seems right to set down a statement of principles
for our company.  Here are some fundamental things that retailers
can count on from Diamond Comic Distributors:
1) Straight talk.  No B.S.
2) Diamond will not use the changes Marvel set in motion as an
opportunity to take discount away from retailers.  We will do our best to
maintain the overall pricing we offer.
3) Diamond will remain receptive - and responsive - to retailer feedback.
We will also advocate on your behalf with all of our suppliers.
4) Diamond is pro-diversity.  We will do our best to preserve open access
to the marketplace for all quality creators and suppliers, so that
retailers
and consumers can choose for themselves from the widest possible variety
of products.
5) Diamond will build on the investments we've made over the years in
distribution and information management systems to deliver service and
support which are state-of-the-art by any industry's standards.
6) Diamond will never become complacent about quality control or
customer service.  We will always strive for perfection.
7) Diamond will always treat comic retailers with respect.  Others may
think you depend on them.  We know we depend on you, and we will
always do our best to help your business grow and prosper


OPENING AN ACCOUNT WITH DIAMOND IS EASY
	If you don't already have an account with Diamond, placing your
first
order in May (for July shipping) will be as easy as 1, 2, 3:
	1. Watch your mail for a May Previews Catalog Pack and a new
Account Application.  If you don't receive both by May 9th, please call
1 800 362-6421, or 410 560-7100 from outside the U.S. and Canada, and a
New Account Representative will rush them to you immediately.
	2.  Return the Account Application to Diamond's Home Office by May
19 in the pre-addressed envelope which will be provided.  Enclose a copy
of an April invoice from your current distributor and, on May orders for
July shipping product, Diamond will match the maximum discount you
currently receive.  (Discount caps may apply on some items.)  Enclose a
copy of your most recent monthly statement from your current distributor
and we'll match your existing payment terms.
	3.  Return your completed May Previews Order Form to the Diamond
Distribution Center which will be servicing your account in the pre-
addressed envelope which will be provided.  Order Forms should be sent to
arrive no later than Monday, May 22, or Thursday, May 25 for Previews
on Disk.
