DOUBLE CHOCOLATE WALNUT DROPS ½ cup butter 1-½ cup sifted flour 2 oz unsweetened chocolate ½ tsp baking powder 1 cup brown sugar ½ tsp soda 1 egg ¼ tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla ½ cup chopped walnuts ½ cup sour milk 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips Melt the butter and unsweetened chocolate squares or pieces together in a saucepan. Cool about ten minutes. Stir in the sugar, then beat in the egg, vanilla, and sour milk. Sift dry ingredients together and add to chocolate mix. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon to a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for about ten minutes. When cool, frost with Mocha Frosting. Adapted from “Better Homes & Gardens Cookies & Candies” (1966).
