AUSTRALIAN HAM PIE

          1-½ cup chopped ham               4 oz flour
          1-½ cup white sauce               2 tsp baking powder
          2-½ cup diced vegetables          ¼ tsp salt
          ⅛ tsp cayenne                     2 oz butter
          ½ tsp cumin                       2 oz grated cheddar

Mix ham, vegetables (celery, onions, carrots, etc.), and spices in an 8x8 casserole with white sauce.

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cut in butter and grated cheese. Add water or milk as necessary to make a firm biscuit dough. Roll out to correct size and lay over the casserole.

Bake covered at 350° for fifty minutes, then remove cover and continue baking another ten minutes.
