Negative Space: Comic-Con
- Comic-Con: The Line’s the Thing
-
Outside of 26AB, the Comics Art Conference room, the Whedonverse fans were forming a line. There’s never a line for CAC. They were just forming one out of habit. I walked right in and they followed.
- Countdown to Comic-Con
- This is the big one: over four hundred thousand square feet of geeks, trekkies, comics, and film.
- Fear and Loathing
- Don’t hate the convention; become the convention. “Her license said Massachusetts. Her eyes said addict. She’d blasted every red light between here and Boston, and the toad was by her side.”
- Fear and Loathing
- Keep yourself motivated until you break in to Comic-Con!

- Fear and Loathing in San Diego 1995
- The Time of the Lord only allows for a single issue of this report. I’ve just returned from England, where I spent no time with comics except for a strip piece called “Beano”, a real gas, but not particularly groundbreaking.
- Fear and Loathing in San Diego: 1998
- Arthur’s pal Jerry Stratton visits the San Diego Comic-Con.
- Rationing hits the San Diego Comic Convention
-
Rationing is almost never the choice, unless you want to create a subculture that thrives on dealing with the rationing scheme. Rationing is trying to force the same amount of water through a smaller and smaller pipe. It’s going to start leaking and finding ways around the pipe.
- San Diego Comic Fest 2012!
- Off to Comic Fest 2012. Should be interesting if nothing else!
- San Diego Comic-Con 2010
-
Fewer comics then ever, but the old folks still keep showing up.
- San Diego Saudade Con
-
Missing the greatest comic convention of the year? This post may sound like sour grapes, but not likely. Nostalgia isn’t as good as it used to be.
- Welcome to Comic-Con 2012!
-
Everything changes, and Comic-Con is no exception. It’s Wednesday night and I’m down in Mission Valley at the Town & Country picking up my badge for 2012, rather than in The Field eating an Irish breakfast. But this year I don’t have a preview night badge and last year they stopped serving the breakfast during the con.

“An old-school comic con brought to you by some of the same folks who produced Comic-Con in the ’70s.”

“People… routinely open multiple browser tabs to try to increase their odds (does anyone really believe 33 million people were planning on attending the con if they’d all managed to register? Note that that’s over 10% of the entire United States population), doing either registration in real time just doesn’t work. Even using load configurable cloud computing, which I’d actually advocated for several years now.”
