Chris Christie is running up against the same problem we have in California with the prison union and other public unions: the government is funneling money for various programs directly to lobbyists who lobby for more money which then gets funneled into lobbying for more money. Taxes go to lobbyists who lobby for more taxes. It’s even worse when some of the lobbyists are also in control of classrooms.
I hope he’s more skilled than Schwarzenegger at breaking the vicious cycle of the government lobbying itself for higher taxes. At least he’s publicly recognizing the problem. “What are they doing with the money?” Lobbying the…
