And, for an alternative view of the flag, here’s First Sergeant Reginald Daniels:
Even though it looks like this, it still means a lot to me… I love this country and what it stands for. I know everybody has their views, but… I take pride in the flag.
In response to I pledge a waffle to the flag: And will totally Like it on FaceBook, until such time as I Unlike it. Loyalty, fidelity, constancy, and waffles.
- “Someone had pulled the flag down off the pole and burned it”
- “Several months ago, 1st Sgt. Reginald Daniels volunteered to install a new playground at the Brattain Head Start school. As he was leaving the school, he noticed the school did not have an American flag on its flagpole.” (Hat tip to Victoria Taft at An American Flag Was Burned in Front of a School. But a Marine Stepped Up in the Classiest of Ways.)
More American flag
- The Star-Spangled Banner in MIDI
- What could be more appropriate for the fireworks of the Fourth of July than a song about bombs bursting in air, illuminating a great flag rippling defiantly to a hostile world?
- Commemorate Patriot Day with Betsy Ross
- The Declaration of Independence overlaid on the Betsy Ross flag.
