More Information
- Alternative Comics
- “Alternative Comics” publishes some great stuff by Kochalka, Henderson, and more. A pretty nice-looking selection of comics in their on-line catalog also.
- Back Porch Comics
- Back Porch Comics, and “SPACE”, the Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo (Columbus, Ohio).
- Bud Plant’s Incredible Catalog
- Includes on-line ordering. Lots of comics art.
- Canadian Comic Book Stores
- Annoyingly set up to look like they all have links; it lists comic book stores and addresses. Somewhat annoying: the entries are in blue, but are not links to more information. Also, not updated for a long, long time.
- Cellar of Comics
- Sells Dark Horse, Image, DC, and Marvel books. Get it? “Cellar” of comics? Sometimes these Internet people crack me up.
- Cold Cut Comics Distribution
- Their service is backorders. If you’re a retailer and need to order back issues, they want your business.
- Comic Book List
- Buy from others or submit your own list to sell. “Dedicated to the selling of thousands of comics.”
- The Comic Guru
- “The Comic Guru Presents! is an independent comics and collectibles store located in the Wyndham Arcade in Cardiff.”
- Comics Shop News
- A bit of comics shop news—what’s late, and why it’s cool that it’s late. Print version only, but there might be a podcast around there somewhere.
- Diamond Comics
- “The world’s largest distributor of English language comic books.” Is that a boast or a confession?
- Het Besloten Land
- According to informed sources, one of the “two best comic book shops in Flanders”. Translate from Dutch
- Hi Profile Productions
- Designed to profile “up-and-coming” hot artists. Great idea, they could use one for their graphic design. Also includes an art auction and an on-line workshop. Of real interest is a history of Black and minority comics, a listing of black artists in the industry, and a listing of black characters in comics.
- Indy-Friendly Comics Stores
- Stores that (a) make an effort to stock indy comics, and (b) make an effort to push indy comics. Good listing if you’re a small publisher looking for a mailing list.
- Kings Specialty Stores
- Looks like an Australian retailer. They have opened their warehouse to the public, however. Theoretically also includes info about Ozcon conventions.
- Last Gasp
- Lots of Robert Crumb and Robert Williams. Shag, too.
- Mile High Comics
- Order old comics, new comics, take part in their NICE comics subscription program, and even take part in their rare comics auctions. Mile High has been around for a long time. I remember, fondly, going through their catalog in the late seventies or early eighties, trying to pick up missed back issues.
- The Nostalgia Zone
- This Minneapolis comic shop also has on-line sales and what looks like pretty good selection of back issues.
- Page 45
- You’ve read about them in the pages of Cerebus. If happen to be popping off to London, give them a look.
- Pietro Collectibles
- You’ll need to wait a while to see the comics--they’re at the bottom of a very slow page. They sell dollar comics, American comics, and “Fumetti Italiani”. Comics are hidden on the bottom...
- Quimby’s
- News and catalog for the great Chicago store, Quimby’s.
- Richmond Comix
- Besides things to buy, info about local cons.
- Tistjen Dop
- One of the best comic shops in Flanders, supposedly. Sells on eBay now. Nice pictures under “Eigen Uitgaven”. Translate from Dutch
- TRH Gallery
- Strip, book, and animation art for sale.
- Westfield Comics
- Yes, another place to order new comics on-line. They’ve got a well-designed, easy to navigate site, except that once you get into the “ordering” section you’ve got frames out the wazoo.Get out your eyeglasses if you don’t have a 21 inch monitor.
- Wow Cool
- The places to go for Giraffes on Horseback Salads... Also, McCloud’s “Five Little Comics”.
